ABOUT THIS TRACK :

The lyrics for this one were actually inspired by a night of debauchery fueled conversations about spy movies, church conspiracies and secret societies (among other things); but shoutout to my old bandmate (Guy) for the much needed pep-talk and industry guidance which was the main take away from that particular adventure. Pisces moon to Pisces sun… You’ll always be my favorite hot mess mirror when I need someone ‘punk rock’ to look up to. Thank you for believing in me as an artist and for being there for me when I needed it most. May LA continue to bless you with rad experiences and all the success you deserve. Nothing but love from my corner of the world.

Additional shoutout to my neighbor Bob, for being the glitch in the simulation that turned up on my doorstep and put a vintage ukulele in my hands during the recording process; and to my dad who sacrificed something very sentimental in value to rescue an instrument from the pawn shop so it could be used in this song ahead of its release.

This endeavor in general has been an uphill battle on all fronts; I present these four tracks as a reminder that I’m still here (even with all the odds stacked against me), in spite of my tools and resources being taken, in spite of the government telling me that my "American Dream" didn’t matter, in spite of the wrath of censorship, the unforgiving nature of cancel culture, in spite of the discouragement I’ve faced at nearly every turn for wanting to deviate from the standard formula of mainstream music success to support and encourage the sonic rebels of the world; I’m still here and we’re still choosing noise.

My entrepreneurial spirit cringes a bit at the thought of not being able to roll this out properly, but I hope that being upfront about the struggle will serve as an inspiration to the other independent label owners and musicians who’ve found themselves disheartened while navigating the uncertain waters of the post-pandemic industry chaos. To put it in perspective, I rolled the last of my change on more than one occasion to purchase enough gas to get me to the nearest fast food establishment so I could borrow their wifi just to see some of this content uploaded.

That being said, I hope you enjoy this teaser and that you won’t judge my competency as a musician or label owner too harshly for the haphazard way this “sort of EP” was kicked out of the nest and into the multiverse. That’s the nature of DIY music for you. It went down like this so I could have a sonic portfolio while wrapping up the rest of the album, rehearse in preparation to offer a tour package, and continue working to rebuild the foundations of a record label that circumstance tried so very hard to kill.

I guess they failed to realize that noise is immortal.
